Who am I?

I am a software engineer and full-stack developer.

I studied Computer Science at Stony Brook University with a specialization in Human-Computer Interaction.

I am passionate about Software Engineering because it allows me to be able to solve unique and abstract problems and to combine my technical, creative, and interpersonal skill set to developing good software.

I value empathy and try to bring that into my projects. With the bigger picture in mind, I aim to bridge the gap between both the end users and the providers. Each layer (back-end, front-end, database) also provides its unique set of challenges and way of thinking that I enjoy being able to tackle and piece together.

I also hope to continue a lifetime of learning within the field. Some things I'm interested in are data science and visualization, machine learning, programming languages, and UI/UX.

What have I made?

Automated U.S. Districting

Fall 2018

As a senior project, my team and I created an automated U.S. districting site with a goal to reduce gerrymandering based on different user input criteria. We used Google Maps API along with real precinct GeoJSON data in order to simulate and display live districting of particular states.

A web app built at a hackathon that allows travelers to see the health risks and vaccine information of different countries. Won best UI/UX at Hack Health 2019.

Site Score Scanner

Summer 2018

As an intern at Comodo Security, I did a redesign of Site Score Scanner, a website malware scanner tool, with a goal to increase conversion rates. I created functional front-end wireframes for development and prepared an in-depth A/B test hypothesis based on MECLABS conversion research and user testing.

As part of my Introduction to Databases course final project, I worked in a group to create a travel website in which users could search and book flights, cruises, hotels, or car rentals based on different criteria.

Dynamic Memory Allocator

Spring 2018

Using the C programming language as part of my System Fundamentals II course, I created a dynamic memory allocator to allocate, reallocate, or free virtual memory. Modeled after segregated free lists and immediate coalescing.

Ironlogs: Consolidated Results

Summer 2017

As an intern at Syncsort, I implemented a tool within Ironlogs, the in house test results site, for developers to compare and analyze test results of 2 product builds. I retrieved test results from a database based on search criteria as well as analyzed the results to find things such as new failures.

My final project for my CSE 219: Computer Science III class using Java/JavaFX. This is a desktop app that helps users create UML Diagrams and exports them to skeleton code. Both the front-end and the back-end was done using a combination of Java, JavaFX, and JSON.
